Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Announced for WWE SummerSlam 2014 After Return to Raw

For the first time since defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX,
breaking the vaunted 21-0 winning streak and appearing on Raw the following night, WWE legend Brock Lesnar returned to programming during the July 21 edition of Monday Night Raw.
With Paul Heyman by his side doing all of the talking, Lesnar agreed to face John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight championship at SummerSlam next month.
The SummerSlam Twitter account had the news:

As Robert Littal of Black Sports Online points out, Lesnar didn't exactly do much in his first appearance back:

While beating Undertaker at WrestleMania was one of the most shocking moments in wrestling history, Lesnar initially returned in December of 2013 with the goal of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Lesnar’s hunt for the title was derailed by Big Show at the 2014 Royal Rumble, but he returned during the build to WrestleMania with the belts on his mind again. Instead of fighting for the WWE title, he was challenged by Undertaker and subsequently defeated him.
Any question about Lesnar’s legacy in the wrestling business was answered by ending the streak.
There have been constant complaints from many wrestling fans aboutLesnar’s part-time schedule, but the company knows the value he holds and the amount of buys he drew on pay-per-view as both a wrestler and a fighter in the UFC.
With SummerSlam scheduled for Aug. 17 and the WWE Network’s first six-month renewal process beginning after the company’s second-largest PPV, the addition of Lesnar to the card will make the show a true spectacle.
It was first reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter on June 18, viaWrestling Inc., that Lesnar would return for SummerSlam to square off against the winner of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship ladder match.

The speculation that Cena and Lesnarcould square off at SummerSlam for the championship picked up when Amazon released the cover of the upcoming DVD for the 2014 edition of the PPV, via James Caldwell of PWTorch.com.
Lesnar and Cena have a long history together and a feud now makes sense.
It was during Lesnar’s initial return in 2012—the first time he had been back in WWE since leaving in 2004—that he brutally attacked Cena and bloodied him in a way that built instant heat for the duo's match at Extreme Rules later that month.
After losing the match in 2012 and watching Cena win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank, the time for Lesnarto launch himself into the company’s world-title hunt is finally right.
Lesnar will no doubt be the new WWE world heavyweight champion after SummerSlam.
